Is there something that you have ALWAYS wanted to but have just never had the opportunity? Well, my something was accomplished and I could not have done it without Global Youth Network.
I am one of the many people in the world who "wants to make a difference". I have always felt the need to help people, to listen and be there for people and to actively show compassion to those around me. Sometimes all you need is a little bit of guidance or someone telling you that you would be good at something. My something came in my second year at Wilfrid Laurier University.
When you live around students you are surrounded by young minds who are like minded. I became friends with my next door neighbours very quickly, not knowing what that would mean for my future. One of the guys, Gilad, was leading a trip to Venezuela with GYN and I was intrigued. Gilad encouraged me, took my application and informed me of all important dates.
I was accepted to travel on a university volunteer team going to Macedonia for a month. I couldn't believe it, I couldn't believe that such a simple action could snowball into making my something happen. Without Global Youth Network providing me with opportunities and without a new friend who had faith in me. my something may not have ever happened.
Make YOUR something happen. Dream big
